FROM MINNEAPOLIS TO KENOSHA: OFFICIAL RESPONSE FROM FOUNDER AIMEE ALLISON

What we have been witnessing these past few months across our country, from Minneapolis to Kenosha to Portland, has laid bare the tragic results of generations of deep institutional racism, neglect, and a system that diminishes the humanity of so many in our country. When our communities come together to protest, we do so in the name of love — love of our children, parents, siblings and spouses, whose lives have been taken from us or are at risk every single day. And love of a country, where we continue to fight for justice for all. What we need now more than ever are leaders who can help heal and unify us. Leaders who understand the gravity of the moment and can govern with their full humanity in view. We must continue our resolve to use our votes and our voice to reimagine our democracy and finally eradicate policies and acts of hate that cause so much suffering in our communities. It's a good time to remind ourselves that we are powerful, that we hold the vision, that justice is possible, despite the chaos and fear that has infected the country. Come November, the country will follow the lead of women of color, who, together, are the greatest chance to lead us to a new political and cultural era in America.
